Aw, give Zuko a break on the breakup thing. He was turning traitor and Mai worked for his sister, who would kill him/turn him in in a heartbeat. What else could he have done?
You know, I feel like I've done a million of these, but it's always so fun, so hit me again. :)
Except said hot ninja girlfriend had never defied his sister (to his knowledge) and, in fact, had been known to follow her instructions over Zuko's wishes. He had every reason to think she would be horrified that he was turning traitor and turn her in. And even if she didn't, he would have put her in a terrible position. Either turn in her boyfriend or be party to treason. I think not telling her his intentions beforehand was the more noble option in this case.
Although I would agree with the "no text breakup" as a general rule. :)
How come? Most of the fics for it are junk, but every rare once in a while something comes along which focuses on the emotional connection they made over the series- catacombs and then the raiders- rather than some stupid idea of sexual tension which badly imitates Tsundere/jerk romances. Like most pairings, but especially popular ones- it's usually crappy, but when it's good, it's good.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Yami Malik, mostly because everyone else seems to have a completely different conception of what Yami Malik is like from the actual canon.
I try very hard to forget what the fanon view of him is. Actually, I think I have forgotten... Huh, I have. Anyway, he mainly interests me because he's a split part of Malik's psyche. All those hatreds in him were once a part of Malik, after all.
13. My five least favorite characters: The anime filler characters with the exception of Rebecca and Vivian.You like Vivian? How come? (I thought I was the only one who did! *

Ah. I wasn't part of any fandom back then, and I've always kept myself removed from those sorts of shipping debates anyway. Unless the canon ship is actually bad, why bother? And in that case it's likely that the author is a bad one and would screw up a romance even with a more compatible couple, so it's still moot point, I think ^^;
I guess there's a use to ignoring a lot of that type of stuff- I've never had the experience of despising something because of the hype. Well, all right, there's one fantasy series which annoys me because it's famous and yet the author knows nothing of the genre and it shows, badly, but besides that... All right, I'm a hypocrite. Apologies DX
Ack, Bronzeshipping is easily the worst of the popular pairings.
She is lots of fun ^^ One thing I find odd is that even though she was always talking about wanting a dueling partner (or love slave XD), instead the few people who do talk about her seem to think she's a gold-digger. Whereas I got the impression that she'd go after any duelist with talent and a

Well, vivian is also going after Seto Kaiba, so that's where the gold digging comes from, presumably.
I'm mostly interested in Volume 6, due to the fact that that one has the The Tarot page for the Lovers. Which, as it so happens, is identified as Anzu and Yuugi. *I just might be a bit of a shipper* But getting the actual story on Otogi is definitely a good thing too. The anime totally butchered his entire story arc. *grr*
