Last night when I was about to go to sleep an idea popped into my head, I've been participating in several kinds of icontests and one variant is the Last Icon Maker Standing where there's a theme every week, maybe a certain image, maybe a technique - you get the picture. They are really rather fun and I've seen it done with art as well over on

I think it could be interesting... I think it should be put together, though whether I participate is going to depend on what's going on in life when it comes up. This spring I'll need to buckle down and write that steampunk novel...

On the technical side, I wanted to point out that 1k can be a lot per person if you have a lot of participants. 20 people could mean a potential 20k words. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but perhaps you need to review how long the voting period would last...

You do have a point with the length - the problem would be most in the first rounds when there would be the most participants. Maybe say 500 words in the beginning and then up it to 1000 for the final rounds maybe... *ponders*

:raises hand: Well I'm interested. I agree with Haven tho, maybe lower the word count to up to 500 words? (Approx. comment fic sized) I know that for me sometimes a thousand words comes easily, but other times its like pulling teeth.

Also, is this going to be fandom themed or original works or a mix? You could prolly draw in more writers if you choose a fandom and pimp it at the various comms.

In any case, I would most likely participate for what thats worth :)

Yay! And yeah, the wordcount would have to be lower at least in the start when there are lots of participants. For the final rounds it might work to up the count though.

At first I was thinking Original but then I know people are protective of their originals so fanfiction, or rather free for all, would be the way to go. Maybe limit into a few fandoms like in pictures2words *ponders*
