It's official: I'm having the biopsy on my knee on Saturday. I'll go in about 8.30am and most likely be home by teatime. Though what sort of condition I'll be in when I get home remains to be seen, as does how long it'll be before I can put my weight on that leg. A couple of days at bare minimum, I'd reckon (though DD, who's had something ( Read more... )

Time? 9pm my time (1pm, 3pm, 4pm)? Or later, or earlier? The kids are so late getting to bed these days that it doesn't really matter if I start chatting playing before they go to bed.

A biopsy? I must have missed something. Why a biopsy? Do they suspect something like cancer? Or does biopsy mean something different in the UK? Is this just a sneak and peek?

Worried....

No, it's not cancer, that much is certain - it's more the sneak and peek thing, because they don't really know what's up with the knee. I mentioned it in a post on Thursday. The worst bit about this as far as I'm concerned is the general anaesthetic.

When I had my laproscopic knee surgery, I told anyone who came near me that I wanted the absolute minimum for anesthesia, because that was the part I dreaded, too. They must've done a reasonable job because I apparently started waking up within five minutes of returning to the recovery room. Took me longer to wake up after my colonoscopy, but once I *did* wake up, I was more promptly alert. I think they try hard not to give too much these days.

I hope your recovery goes smoothly. They actually want you weight bearing again as soon as possible, to speed recovery, so I don't think you'll be laid up too long.

Of course, I *just* sealed up my Christmas card to you, otherwise I would have put get-well wishes in there, too. Well, when it arrives, pretend it says "Get Well". :) *hugs*

And I stole your purse, eh? :D

hugs for Saturday, sweets, and lots of hopes for a speedy recovery.

I would love to play tomorrow, but I'm liable to be late, as I have to do some set-up after school for something on Wednesday. So you all may not want to wait for me. . . I should be home by five at the latest, but that may be too late?

I haven't arranged a time with Jen and Dor, but five your time is likely to be a bit late to start - we can always invite you to watch and chat though, even if you can't play. Perhaps you could be a behind the scenes word advisor for the others? ;-)

I'll ping someone whenever I get in.

*wails* I simply cannot handle Balloon Polls! I made the mistake of looking at the Pooh one, and it makes me want to cry whenever I think about it. :(

Er, and I hope the biopsy goes well. Sorry about the rantlet.

There, there :-( *strokes* This one won't be as traumatic as the Pooh one, I'm sure. That one was a really close call, and there was a lot of campaigning and rallying of troops going on in the background (which I thought was amusing ::points to icon::)

With this Firefly one, I don't have one firm favourite, more like a favourite trio. So no matter what the outcome is, I'll probably be both happy and sad.

aww. thanks :)

Though I simply cannot bring myself to vote, I'll probably at least pay attention periodically. Or try to. ;)
