Title: Proximity
Pairing: Ned/....Chuck
Rating: A smidge dirtier than the show, but not much more; certainly not graphic

Oh, AWESOME. I love the tone, and your use right in the middle of the phrase "the facts were these" pulls you right back into the tone in case your mind was wandering because of the image of Ned doing... that. :D

OH NED.

OH CHUCK.

Fandom-wise, I'm kind of afraid they're heading into Jim/Pam territory (read: copious favourless schlock inundating fandom, see also: Charlie/Claire) but something like this gives me hope that it won't be like that at all! It'll be sexy and good and NGH leave you wanting more, just like the show does... just like it's all supposed to do because the whole point is restraint.

LOVE!

You have no IDEA how weird it was to type that phrase to describe Ned's shower exploits, especially since I was hearing the narrator's tone in my head as I wrote it. ;) But I'm glad it wasn't too distracting, LOL.

I can see how this show would easily lend itself to bad fanfic, but to me, that seems sacreligious. They're not supposed to magically be able to touch and have little Piemaker babies, you know? That's why we only got that teaser of a dream and then--WHAM!--back to reality. Obviously, that reality which involves such restraint is what keeps us drawn in. It wouldn't be the same show without keeping the sex stuff light, the romance high, and the playful, easy chemistry between Ned and Chuck (and, hell, everybody) through the roof.

Dear lord, I've just rambled at you. Sorry. :) This is just to say thanks, especially for just reading this strange story. ♥

That's exactly what I meant. The restraint and limitations are what I find so interesting, but I have seen people on communities posting stuff that is refried versions of the dream, or magical AUs where suddenly everything's fine, and I feel like throwing myself in front of the pairing to save it, you know? I guess writing awesome fic like this is the way to do that ;)

Lovely, darling! Just perfect. You captured the tone very well and managed to find a way around the cutesy angst of the not-touching, which is great! :)

Oh, this was super! You did a wonderful job of capturing that quirky little narrative style of the show, even given that fic wasn't quite as, er, whimsical, perhaps, as the show itself is.
I love the mixture of fluffy romanticism and deep basic frustration that is Ned/Chuck, and I think you went to a very natural ("natural") place with it here.

Yeah, I do love the whimsicality, but my soul is not made of the whimsical. The fluff, though, definitely. ;)

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it. :)
