As I typically do, I had a party on Black Friday to celebrate my birthday. 38 people turned up throughout the day. The menu was as follows.
1. I returned to the
brisket I made for Supper Club back in January for a third time. I managed to fit an eight pound brisket in the slow cooker. It was delicious. There were no leftovers.
2.
Picadillo. I've made this several times this year. It's like a chili without beans, made tastier by using bison. Yum.
3. I provided a vegetarian option by going back to the January Supper Club for
Indian Matzo ball soup.
4. It's a birthday, so I had to make
home made pizza and carrot-pineapple salad. I used a lot of pepperoni. Tulip got some.
5.
Sweet potato and black bean chili provided a nice vegan option.
6. I made two
Prosciutto Puff Pastries from way back at my second supper club.
7.
Stuffed mushrooms provided a vegetarian appetizer option.
8. I
baked a brie.
9. And of course I had to make
Spiked Cider.
10. I made Mom's chili recipe, as customized heavily by me.
11. The appetizers were rounded out by some olives stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes, plenty of crackers and five kinds of cheese (Cotswold, Beemster Classic, St. Andrew, Four-Year-Old Quebec Cheddar, a little extra blue cheese).
12. I had a Dairy Queen ice cream cake and I made chocolate chip cookies. On top of that
undertheivy99 brought her brownies, and
onabus brought a platter of baked goods from his friend the chef.
13. The party started with a lot of hard alcohol and 18 bottles of Great Lakes Christmas Ale. People brought another two bottles of wine, a wine sized bottle of cider, a four pack of a delicious cider in tallboy cans, two more six packs of Christmas Ale, a six pack of hard cider, AND a small bottle of Jack Daniels. We made a hefty dent in all of this, but I still ended up with net positive alcohol. My recycling pile is very large today.
Thanks to all 38 who came. I think the list was something like this:

I had a decent amount of leftovers, but Michael & Shari came over Sunday night and helped me beat the pile down into submission. I also made a pepperoni roll that I'd had prepped on Friday but didn't bake. It was yummy; clearly I need to experiment with that.
Thanks everyone for attending. If I'm in town for Thanksgiving, we'll do it again next year.
