Delaware is famous for being the first state to ratify the Constitution, and not much else. Allow me to add to its fame with a small piece of trivia: Delaware is the only state that I've been to where I was not conscious while I was in the state.
The one and only time I entered the state was part of an extensive road trip that my family went on in the summer of 1989. I may have knocked more states off my list with that one trip than with any single other trip I've been on in my life. We'd just stayed for a week at my Aunt Susan's beach house in North Carolina and were heading north for a wedding in New York. As I recall we did the entire leg of the journey in one day, but I could be wrong about that. I do know for sure that this was the only time thus far that I've entered the state of Delaware. I'd tell you about it, but despite being eleven at the time I don't remember anything about it because I slept all the way through. Due to said unconsciousness, I haven't the faintest idea whether or not we even stopped in the state for gas. It's a small state so I think it likely that we blew through it without pause, not that it makes any difference in the final tally.
