It's now been about two years since we
bought our house, so this seems like a good time to compile a master list of my official habitations.
- My family parents owned a house in Grand Junction, Colorado, when I was born. November 1977 to approximately April 1979, not that I remember any of it.
- We then moved to Minot, North Dakota. This is the first house I have vague memories of. My sister was born just before we moved in April 1981.
- Next up was Butte, Montana. I remember this house really well; it had the most awesome sandbox ever. We lived there until I was in the first grade, approximately October 1984.
- We lived in the North Star Inn in Grand Forks, North Dakota for one month while we went house hunting. It was sweet - we got HBO and that month was Raiders of the Lost Ark repeatedly.
- My family then moved to a house in Thompson, North Dakota. This is now and forever 'home' in my mind. This was my official address all through college, so officially I lived here until May of 2002. However, there were all those little stops along the way to being officially independent, so the list continues.
- I lived in Storrs Hall my freshman year at Case. I was on the second floor and shared a room with K-Rob. August 1996 to May 1997.
- I was back home the summer after freshman year. May 1997 to August 1997.
- At this point I moved into the Phi Kappa Theta house for my sophomore year. Specifically, I was in the back room of the Studio. My rooomate was Andrew - we had separate rooms but I had to go through his room to get to mine. This covered August 1997 through May 1998.
- Time for job experience! I moved into my Aunt Susan's home in Lexington, Kentucky for my co-op with Lexmark Printers. May 1998 through December 1998.
- Back in the Phi Kap house. As befits the President of the fraternity, I lived in the Oval Office. I was here January 1999 through (I think) August 1999.
- Here things get hazy, but I'm fairly certain that this was when I moved back into the Studio, this time in the front room. Alberto lived in the back room. This covered first senior year, August 1999 through May 2000.
- I stayed put that summer, but Matt (aka Dr. Bovi) replaced Alberto in the back room. May 2000 through August 2000.
- My second senior year I was once again in the Oval Office, this time through May 2001.
- After graduation I crashed at the house one more summer, moving down to the Bakery where I shared a room with Steve. May 2001 through early September 2001.
- I moved back in with my parents while preparing for OCS. September 2001 through January 2002.
- Marine Corps Officers Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia. Entered January 2002. Washed out, mostly due to injury, late February 2002.
- Back at home for three months while I looked for a job.
- Moved back to Cleveland. Crashed for a month with Kenichi in his apartment on Arey Road, right near Case.
- Moved into my lovely Little Italy apartment upstairs from Patrizia's Jewelry and next store to Trattoria on the Hill on Mayfield. Esteemed roommates were Frank and Adam. This was my first official Ohio address. June 2002 through May 2003.
- Moved into my own place on Cornell across the street from University Hospital's ER. No roommate at all, effectively the only time the happened. It turns out that I hate living alone. It was a terrible apartment and I paid too much for it. Such is life. June 2003 through May 2004.
- Moved into my lovely Coventry apartment on Lancashire with Micah. He's pretty much the best roommate ever. In some ways it's still the nicest place I've lived. June 2004 through May 2006.
- I tired of long commutes to Westlake, so I rented the second floor of a classic Lakewood duplex on Woodward. No official roommate, but xhollydayx was there 99% of the time. In retrospect we should have just gotten a place together. June 2006 though March 2007.
- Then I bought this house, and I've been there with xhollydayx ever since. Tulip the Fuzzy Overlord came along in April 2008.
