A coworker lent me Civilization 4. Yes, I know that it's two years old already, but it's new to me. This version, as you may know, has added religions, which is appropriate as my soul is definitely in mortal danger. We tried to do a play by email game of Civ4...but somewhere along the line the game got lost :P

I have never played Civilization on the computer, but I have played the board game a number of times. It's awesome! But it does indeed take forever to play...

If you're thinking of "Advanced Civilization," it's a great game, but doesn't really have anything to do with the computer game, endless trademark litigation notwithstanding.

As far as Civ IV goes... I downloaded it from GameTap a few weeks ago.

Meh.

I've NEVER been a big fan of Civilization. Too repetitive. If I'm going to do something repetitive, I want to blow stuff up. If I'm not blowing stuff up, I want a plot.

The best games for me are the ones with both, like "Deus Ex," or "Half Life".

Oh, and "Portal" is awesome.

Ohhhh man, I've for some reason also been really into Civ 4 this Christmas.

Damn good game, no? (And that's not even counting the Warlords and Beyond the Sword expansions)

Addictive, but I think it's only an incremental improvement over the last one, and the end game is still tedious.
