1. If next year is the leftover ice cream from THIS year, count me out.

2. I'd have drunk soda if you'd bought anything Diet.

You forgot the real lesson of the day: Get a real corkscrew! (Did you ever get that bottle open?)

Not as such. We finally pushed the cork *through* into the wine, but by that point enough cork had chipped off that even running it through a tea strainer didn't get it all out.

So yeah, a better corkscrew is on the agenda. Or more wine with a twistoff lid :-)
