Writer's Block: Something like that

Aug 12, 2010 20:10

Holy crap - I've told a lot of whoppers in my time ...

Okay - the biggest lie I've ever told was that I was raped at gunpoint when I was eighteen years old. Truth? No gun.

Water under the bridge. Thank you for your concern, Shaido. I'm fine. Really. I think I'm a stronger, more resilient person as a result of that stupid attack. I wouldn't aim to kill, but if it ever happened again, I would definitely aim to disable. And then, I'd spray-paint the sucker blue while he was down, and call 911 and tell them, "Oh, you'll know him. He'll be in [whatever vicinity], limping, and he's blue."

Don't mess with me, criminals. I will be sure you're humiliated.

It was a long time ago - I've accepted it. (And Bro and his friend Calvin made it their duties to haunt the guy who raped me. Word is that he went nuts and is in a psyche ward somewhere, but I'm not vouching for that.)

I guess their tall-tales are as big as mine... LOL! Honey, that experience has been a part of who I am now. For better or worse... I have this weird way of overcoming stuff that some folks would need therapy to conquer. Does it make me stronger? Nope. I still cry when I learn that a dog was left to die at the side of the road and no one found it in time.

I'm a dork. I handle what I'm supposed to handle, and I don't forget that other people are handling their stuff, too. Sympathy isn't my strong suit (well, you know that better than anyone, my Gypsy!), but I'm working on it...
