Whenever possible, Sasuke liked to go outside Akatsuki's underground lair in the morning, find himself a perch with a good view to the East and sit back and watch the sun rise.
In the past, he had never given much thought to such activities, and used to think that sunset was a lot cooler anyway. The sky would slowly turn purple under the moon's direction and the strongest stars would sparkle out at the world, jealous of the white orb's brightness - like ninjas coming out of hiding now that the perfect moment to strike had come. And before you knew it, the sky would have gone completely dark and a horde of those tiny, bright ninjas had sneaked up on you and were ready and in position to fulfill their mission and carry out their goals.
Then Sasuke had gone to Orochimaru. He had shrouded himself in darkness and waited until the time was right to reveal himself to the moon that had forever obscured his life. He had fought and killed Itachi, but had been too weak to rid himself of his oppressive shadow before a new moon came and took his brother's place. And so Sasuke had joined Akatsuki.
Now his favourite time of the day was sunrise, when the sky would turn orange and yellow and pink, and the little stars could rest from their struggle against the tyrannical moon, secure that for a little while at least, they could rely on their stronger friend, the sun, to keep the darkness at bay while they regained their strength.
Therefore, Sasuke was shocked when the dawn of that new day alighted the arrival of a very familiar someone at Akatsuki's headquarters.
The Uchiha quickly left his sky-gazing for a different time and made his way inside. He wanted to find out what was going on and why exactly was Naruto walking calmly alongside his two cloaked escorts rather than fighting them with tooth and nail.
He really hated those days when the moon treacherously shone alongside the sun.
