One-shot: 大罰小人編

Jan 20, 2010 15:02

Summary: Kouji Hirobachi was the kind of kid who was so annoying that the school rumours had it that even his parents couldn't stand him.

Original challenge by lollilolli: Sakura, or any other girl character you might choose, absolutely loathes a certain boy (the reasoning is up to you). His name is Collin (typical oily-looking, overly bony, wide-eyed geek). This boy happens to be walking on the same path as Sakura on her way home. She decides to use a new Jutsu she learned, which allows her to shrink people to any size she wants. She tests it out on Collin by shrinking him down to an inch tall, and puts him in her sandal. Knowing Collin has claustrophobia, and a phobia of feet, she figured it would be a good time to use him as her newest insole on her long walk home. Being as descriptive and creative as possible, write this scene.

大罰小人編 (aka "Kouji Hirobachi's Story")

Kouji Hirobachi was the kind of kid who was so annoying that the school rumours had it that even his parents couldn't stand him. There was no way to know what the couple actually thought about their son, as no one had ever seen them, but if the younger brother's attitude was anything to go by, it would seem like, for once, the rumour mill of Konoha's Ninja Academy wasn't far from the truth.

In Kouji's defense, his megalomanic growth spurts probably were responsible for his habit of hunching over the shorter kids and stealing away their sun while pinning them in place with his equally big eyes. It was also likely that no one had ever told him that his blunt way of speaking was a tad too intense and intimidating, but that still did not excuse the way he rambled everyone's ears off with long speeches about everything academic - and, worse, indulged in pointing out and meticulously laughing at ignorance whenever he caught scent of it.

Sakura Haruno happened to be in the same class as Kouji and she could boast (not that she did it too often) that, out of everyone, she was the one who had the highest marks. That kept her clear off the range of his idiot-radar, but also - to her eternal misery - directly into his list of rivals-that-need-up-showing.

She could not care less about the competition, but for some reason, he was always there, next to her, whenever a test was delivered, ready to compare the tiniest of scratches left by the teacher's correction pen on both of their papers. Whenever Iruka asked her a question, he would always - always - add a bit more to her answer after she'd finished.

He was, simply put, annoying. And also severely uncool - dreamy boyfriend-to-be Sasuke Uchiha would never look her way if Kouji was always looming over her shoulder, cha!!

"Hey, Sakura! Sakuraaa!!" she heard the dreadful voice one day as she was returning home. She pretended not to hear it, even though the cries were so damnably loud and obnoxious that they must have reached the Hokage's office.

"Hey, Sakura!" Kouji called out again as his chase brought him next to the girl. "Cool class today, huh? Of course, I thought those chakra exercises were waaay too basic. I've been doing stuff a lot more advanced than that on my own for ages. See, I got this scroll and..."

He went on and on and on... and then on some more - "...what an idiot, that Naruto! Couldn't even get this right!" He just wouldn't shut up, regardless of whether or not Sakura paid any attention to what he was saying - which she didn't. She totally didn't. But how to get rid of him?! Once he started talking - "...and see this diagram here? These are the chakra coils you need to..." - there was just no polite way to shut him up. He didn't give her any room to interrupt! "And yeah, it's supposed to be a chuunin-level skill, but you know how good I am at these..."

Oh god. Had he seriously pulled a scroll from his bag and was putting on airs of teaching her a lesson? That was it. Time for Inner Sakura to come out and play!

"Give me that!" she said and took the paper right off of his hands. She was about to chuck it far, far away where Kouji, the Annoyance, would never be able to reach it, but caught a glimpse of what was written at the top of the page and paused.

"I told you it was a cool technique," the Infernal Bother exclaimed, oblivious to the danger behind the intense gaze Sakura was dedicating to the writings. "Real simple too, right? You'd have to be Naruto not to get it right the first time, haha!"

"Yeah," she agreed. "It is kind of simple."

She slowly turned to stare at the Overgrown Housefly. He was still blissfully unaware of her dark intentions, too deep into his little fantasy world where he was King and oh-so-much greater than everyone else, and fortunately for her, she'd thought to take a shortcut home today that crossed through a particularly uninhabited alleyway.

Her hands moved faster than they ever had and performed the sequence described in the scroll to perfection.

"Ant's Perception Technique!"

Her chakra answered her call and the handseals did their job in channeling it where it was supposed to go. Before her eyes, Kouji Hirobachi was shrinking... shrinking... shrinking until he was the size of an ant.

"I did it! I did it!" she cheered. Her cries reverberated louder in the confined space than was probably prudent for someone who had just committed a misdeed she was interested in keeping a secret.

Once they faded, though, she realised that there was something else there with her making noise, and looked down to find the Great... no, the Tiny Pest screaming his little lungs out at her. Unfortunately for him, all his shouting was about as perceptible as the buzz of a fly speeding past too close to one's ear.

"I've had enough of you and your endless talking, Kouji Hirobachi. Today, you're going to learn a lesson!"

Having said that, she picked him up by the backpack he was still wearing with the tip of two nails and let him drop into her sandal. The shrilly buzz of his horrified screaming was immediately muffled by the thick material and Sakura was once again free - and at peace - to resume her walk home.

It was the last time the Annoyance ever annoyed anyone - or at least Sakura Haruno - again.
