Went to see Brokeback Mountain with the Maternal Unit, Ami, and various semi-familial adults. It was good. Now I need to read the story; maybe it will hit me more with the emotional reaction ( Read more... )

graymm posted the story to her LJ a few weeks ago here. Personally, I'm glad I read it before I saw it. I don't know if I'd have enjoyed it as much or gotten into it as much from just the movie. Then again, it doesn't grab everyone the same.

Yeah, I've got a collection of Proulx's stories (How the heck do you pronounce her last name? How?) with BBM in it sitting around, waiting for me to deign to notice it. Because I am lazy.

Only slightly more women than men--most groups were women and their menfolk. Surprisingly close to equal, actually.
