OMG GOLD DS LITE

Nov 03, 2007 21:29

Reading cheapassgamer right now, and OMG buy.com has for preorder a special edition gold DS lite bundled with Phantom Hourglass. There's a triforce in the corner of the top cover. I would so buy it if I didn't have a DS lite and PH. I guess the rumor of a gold, Zelda DS is true.

Here's a pic someone posted from the forum:

I'm very tempted, but I can't. I need to save money for all the dvds and games we want to get in a few weeks. XD

Triforce so shiny!! *_*

Hehe, I feel the same way right now. I'll try my best to resist, but I've fallen into this kind of trap before. I spent $99 on a GC and then $20 for Nintendo Power subscription just so I could buy/play the Zelda Collection disc. This was after my bro got his GC bundled with the said disc.

Maybe I can convince my bro to get the gold DS since he doesn't have a DS yet... That way I can live vicariously through him and then steal it for myself. XD

Wow.... this preorder package tops the POT one. 8D;;;
But what's the gold thing in the back under the wallet? (assuming it's a wallet)
SO SHINY.

Haha, I don't think that's the preorder package. It's too much stuff. I also was wondering what that gold thing was. It looked like a blinging purse from the 80s to me, but I have no idea. The design is the original NES gold cartridge, but as to what it is exactly, no clue.

If I can find the gold DS lite for a good price, it's mine. :3

The thing that's killing getting your second icon to 40kB is your colour palette. You're using all 256 colours, and my GIF compressor isn't able to cull enough of them out to make it worthwhile. If you dither that down, you might be able to gain enough savings by having a compressor mask out entire regions of the images in order to gain the appropriate space. However, to do that, you'll need to turn transparency off in all your frames... which right now, you really don't need to begin with. ;)

Hehe, even if it's the normal price of $129, it's still a good deal, compared to Asian version which costs $200. It's so tempting but must resist. I guess I'll have to repeat this statement over and over.

I don't even know how Image Ready optimized the file, but I guess I'll have to figure out how to turn off transparancy in it then... Thanks for the tip and I'll try it out now. :)

I can turn off the transparency using my program. :) If you can reduce the colour palette, I can do the rest of the work. :)

Oooooh I always wanted the ice blue version. It's certain way more interesting than my boring "polar white" or whatever it's called. I'm tempted to get some blank vinyl stickers to doodle on and stick them on my DS. Then it wouldn't be as boring looking anymore.
