Doing custom pieces is good. It kicks me into working even when I don't want to. Also, I tend to fill the period of nothingness when waiting for the etching to happen with doing something vaguely useful. I really like that. How do you find working with bone? I have vague memories of our bone carving module at school, it was dusty but a surprisingly easy to shape (cow bone, if I recall).

My limited experience is that I like it so far! I haven't done much with it yet, but a friend has just returned to the region and she's had a workshop in bone-working, so I might pick her brains.

The smell of the dust is slightly odd, though - a little like horn but less unpleasant.
