So this is a little bit random, but I think I have identified the maker of a piece in the V and A. Well, not identified as such, because they had her name (Miss G M Hart), but suggest nothing else by her is known. Having done some googling and article reading and census hunting, I think she is Gertrude Mary Hart, who married Frederick James ( Read more... )

Very interesting indeed. You going to write it up and share with the appropriate curator at the V&A? They might have additional pieces in the broader collection that could support the hypothesis. And it might get you a closer look at that piece, too

I have emailed them with a quick summary. Bizarrely it's in the ceramics collection, although I think really it's glass and ceramics, which makes more sense.

He life seems to have been awfully sad.
