"Catveat"

Apr 26, 2008 13:03

Yesterday, I posted about how my irritating cat Seth (notice I didn't say "evil", just irritating) is a spiteful little imp! And in truth, he is. BUT, I've known some really awesome cats in my day. For example, Todd's parents had a huge orange cat named Fred. Fred was one of the sweetest, most laid back cats I've ever known. He had a great spirit, ( Read more... )

Some people deserve to be reincarnated as cats that are abandoned.

I like the "catveat".

I hear that! Actually, I'm hoping his parents are reincarnated as Huguenots in France at their most persecuted! (Irony!) Or even Jews in Germany say around 1940 or something!

His parents sound as revolting as mine. Did he ever find out why they'd moved without telling him?

They haven't even called him yet! His Mom merely e-mailed him some pictures of their new house in Birmingham (Alabama). Yeah, that makes up for everything...NOT! I'm sure their rationale is purely based on Todd's lack of interest in their religious beliefs. He and his brother (who they also ignore) are the "black sheep" of the family, in terms of not falling in line with the prevailing religious bullshit. I know it bothers Todd, even though he tries not to let on. It's kind of like being an orphan. At least he has MY parents, who really do love him! Are your parents as selfish and inconsiderate?

Isn't it just so often the way that really religious people are the ones who are the complete dregs of society.

Yes, my parents (especially my mother) are selfish and inconsiderate. :-(

That is so sad, it makes me want to cry. Mistreating animals makes me madder then mistreating kids, at least they can ask for help.

If I could I would drive down there and look for him, how long has they been gone?

Todd's parents have been gone (to our knowledge) for about a month and a half or so. I was thinking maybe we could try to look up one of their former neighbors in Mobile and ask if they've seen Fred. Then we could ask them to hold on to him and maybe pick him up a weekend. (Mobile is a good day's drive from Cinci. We'd have to stay overnight somewhere. I'd LOVE to "surprise" his parents in Birmingham, hold up Fred and say, "look what we got, bitches"!! And then leave, because I truly have nothing else to say to those f&ckers! Somehow, they managed to bring along TIM'S awful cat Daisy (who hates everybody!), but not Fred. I guess all the nice people/animals in the family get treated like shit. That's surely the case with Todd! Anyway, I didn't mean to make this a novel! Sorry!

I think that sounds like a great idea.

I agree with Tina you might want to go by the area and see if he is about. Sorry and we all knew his parents suck but this whole debacle was above and beyond.

Todd's parents are totally and completely driven by religion (not God, mind you, but the human construct of religion). If they WERE driven by god, one would hope they'd treat all their children equally. Anyway, Todd and his oldest brother Chris are the "black sheep" because they don't buy in to all the religious crap his parents spew. Consequently, they are ignored. What sucks is that Todd's Grandma (a lovely woman who has a big heart and doesn't care WHAT Todd believes, she just loves him) lives WITH Todd's parents. She's in her 90's. So if Todd wants to see her again, (and I do, too!) he has to go through them. Pretty sucky, huh? And people wonder why I say I'm Agnostic!

That really sucks :(

Best thing I could add is that is you can find out who the new homeowners are, you might be able to ask them to leave food out and call you if he returns.
