Many years ago I was told by an African that I was very valuable, worth many cattle for marriage. I was after all a good size... (I weighed 15-20 pounds less than I do now). I was also informed that was a huge compliment.
I still recall that remark - when my mean spirited inner voice talks smack to me about weight - I try to think about how my value may have increased with a few more pounds. :)

Part of me wants to say, "Hey, good for you!" all enthusiastically and stuff. The other part wants to say, "Oh, shut up. I think I found your missing pounds..." while glancing at my midsection.
