Tell me why I don't like Mondays

Seems as though my M-I-L decided to attempt suicide on Monday. We only find out about it Tuesday when the repercussions hit. Needless to say, it's been a whirlwind of activity in what had been a relatively drama-free new year (up to this point).

Oh my. You have my sympathies. Not just chaos, but chaos involving others who, obviously, desperately need help. Not fun...

of these last few years, her faithful rescue dog, is dying of congestive heart failure and may have to be put down tomorrow. When it rains, it pours, apparently.

She knew her dog was in poor health; this was a precipitating factor in the suicide attempt, we think, along with the insufficiently heralded arrival of her 86th birthday.

Thanks for your well wishes on her behalf. We are (and have been) trying to help her find a path to healing. Recovery is out of the question at this late date (she turned 86 on Monday).
