There is a special training program for pharmacists who want to give flu shots. Thousands have been certified, meaning that among other things, in places with 24 hour Walmarts or other all night drug stores, you could have a craving for vaccination flung upon you at 3 AM and be accommodated. A number of MDs are perturbed about it, because some people are therefore skipping a check-up that they used to get at flu shot time, but for the most part it is considered a good thing.

Aha; makes sense.

I'd rather get the shot early in the season than wait for a space with my Primary, to be sure. And all the people who aren't my Primary want to lecture me about being obese, so I don't want to see them! (Primary at least understands I'm exercising and dieting and it's a struggle.)

Who gets a physical before a flu shot? Usually a couple perfucntory questions about allergies to eggs, how I'm feeling tody and then blamo, and all done.
