Comfort
Ever since Romano was a small child, nothing made him feel better infuriated him quite like being shoved against Spain's chest in a crushing hug.
Kiss
Romano's first proper kiss took place right after he finally unified with his brother, just before he left Spain's house, and it was too wet (stupid bastard had the audacity to cry as well), too sorrowful, and too full of loss for his liking.
Soft
Spain's hands aren't soft, Romano notes, they are actually quite callused, despite their smooth appearance, and that fact describes him far more perfectly than anything else ever could.
Pain
Romano knows that, despite being an over overly cheerful, carefree, sweet, airheaded man, Spain is far stronger than he is, so he is always thankful when he chooses not to retaliate against his headbutts and occasional swats to Spain's shoulder.
Potatoes
It's his deepest, darkest secret, but whenever Spain calls him for breakfast and serves up his tortilla de patatas with a smile, Romano can't help enjoy the food, despite its disgusting, devilish ingredients.
Rain
Spain's smile always seems just a little off when the rain starts to fall, but Romano never says anything, especially when he finds himself dragged out into the downpour.
Chocolate
On cold days, Spain makes Romano some Spanish hot chocolate, Romano claims it doesn't taste any different from regular hot chocolate, and the two just sit around, warming up under blankets and from the heat of their steaming mugs.
Happiness
Romano had no idea what to call the soft emotion that pooled in his stomach whenever Spain smiled at him.
Telephone
The best (or worst, if you ask Romano) thing about the invention of the telephone is that whenever Spain feels lonely, he can always ring Romano.
Ears
Spain and Romano both often complain that the other never listens to them.
Name
The way Spain whispers his name just so is what always drives Romano over the edge.
Sensual
Nobody will ever understand just how beautiful Spain finds it when Romano punches him in the arm.
Death
Despite the fact that he tries to drive the horrid thoughts from his mind, Romano can only think of one thing when Spain goes off to war.
Sex
Romano started laughing their first time--a nervous chuckle slowly becoming something more hysterical-- as his brain had completely fizzled out over attempting to comprehend that this was actually happening.
Touch
Romano may have claimed to hate the random kisses, cuddles, and hugs he often found himself pulled into, but really, he'd find it odd if Spain stopped being overly affectionate.
Weakness
Even when Spain is at his worst--axe drawn, clothing torn, skin covered in blood, insane mind crying for moremoremore-- the mere mention of his most cherished henchman draws him out of his blood-thirsty stupor.
Tears
Romano couldn't help but find Spain's beaming, misty-eyed reaction to any small show of kindness from him endearing (if not ridiculously annoying).
Speed
Nothing made Spain come running quite like a cry of distress from Romano.
Wind
When Romano hears the quick swoosh of a body flying at him, he almost thinks about not even bothering to run, as he knows he's already doomed to be wrapped into one of Spain's hugs.
Freedom
Being his own, independent (half of a) nation was exhilarating, especially since Romano could now see himself as Spain's equal, instead of just his "cute little henchman".
Life
Despite the fact that they don't always get along, despite the fact that Romano finds Spain overly annoying and Spain finds Romano ridiculously frustrating, neither Spain or Romano can imagine life without the other.
Jealousy
One day, Spain hopes, Romano will realise that he has nothing to fear, because Spain only has eyes for him.
Hands
"You know, Lovi, it's so cute how your hands are still smaller than mine."
Taste
Spain tastes like tomatoes and sunshine and something so uniquely Spain that it can't ever possibly be described.
Devotion
One might accuse Spain of spoiling Romano, or of letting the boy walk all over him, but making Romano happy made Spain happy, and he liked things just the way they were.
Forever
Spain and Romano aren’t always perfect, don’t always get along, but they’ll always come back to one another in the end.
Blood
Nothing sets Spain off, makes him see red, quite like when somebody hurts his Romano.
Sickness
He's always seen Spain as a strong, albeit idiotic, smiling force of nature, and when he is down or blue, Romano doesn't quite know what to do.
Melody
Even as an adult, Romano always finds himself drifting off to sleep to the sound of a Spanish lullaby.
Star
His brother may still believe in wishing on stars, but when Romano is laying under the expansive sky with Spain, out in the other man’s tomato fields, he knows he doesn't need to: he's already got everything anybody could ever wish for (he‘s talking about the tomato fields, of course).
Home
He hasn’t lived there in centuries, but Romano always finds himself slipping up and referring to Spain's house as "home" whenever he travels there.
Confusion
Spain is constantly confused abut the way Romano acts, and Romano is always confused by everything Spain says, but somehow, it all works out anyway.
Fear
Romano’s worst fear has always been that someday, Spain will realise that Romano just isn’t good enough for him.
Lightning/Thunder
"I'm not afraid of the fucking storm, you moron, it's just cold, so scoot over."
Bonds
Something will always draw Romano to Spain, whether he likes it or not.
Market
Romano hates it when the girls at the market flirt with Spain; what's worse (or perhaps better) is that the man never seems to notice at all.
Technology
Romano almost finds it endearing, how Spain still hasn't managed to figure out how to use his mobile.
Gift
The best gift Spain ever received was Romano himself, and honestly, he wouldn't trade him for the world.
Smile
It is very rare that anybody sees Romano smile, but there's a special one reserved just for Spain (but only if you ask Spain about it, Romano denies this fact vehemently).
Innocence
Despite being the older nation, Spain can sometimes be far more naïve than Romano thinks is even possible.
Completion
Romano brings out the worst in Spain, but Spain brings out the best in Romano.
Clouds
Romano didn't bother pointing out that Spain thought every cloud they saw looked like a tomato, the whole situation had 'lost cause' written all over it.
Sky
Romano didn't wish on stars like his younger brother did, he knew where to go if he ever wanted anything, and that place was far closer than the distant stars in the sky.
Heaven
Spain would fight anyone, anything, even the entire army of Heaven, to keep his Romano safe.
Hell
The strange feelings Romano feels toward his guardian are wrong, so horribly sinful, and yet he just can't stop them, no matter how hard he tries.
Sun
To Romano, Spain is pure sunshine-- loving, nurturing, and bright, with the potential to burn him to a crisp if he's not careful (but unlike the actual sun, Spain would never even consider doing such a thing).
Moon
Romano just rolls his eyes when Spain waxes poetic about the two of them looking up at the same moon, despite being so far apart (he can't help but look up at the moon anyway, however, a slight grin gracing his features).
Waves
Spain loves it when Romano's hair starts to get long, just before the other nation cuts it, because he loves the feel of the soft waves against his fingertips.
Hair
Romano knows he's completely lost it when he actually lets Spain touch his hair curl, knowing full well that the man has finally realised what it is.
Supernova
Romano would be embarrassed to admit that he thought the world of that (strong, caring, amazing) tomato bastard he so often found himself in the company of.
