So i have elected my self to head up a community project on behalf of my team. The goal is to provide a day which involes staff at the coop going out in the community and helping out. while saddly its only 1 days a year, i would like to try and make the day count

Yeah this is another thing i am wanting to do, as i wanting to something manuel labour focused but saddly i'm late to the game and the children catogry was the only one left!

The council may well have something you could do, and they will probably have an officer/department/semi-independent arm that deals with volunteering.

did you just apporach the school and ask if they wanted some help?

it appears their use to be a website were school and such wanting so work done posted on it, but saddly its died of death :(

Bear in mind that if the plan ends up involving direct contact with children, the establishment may require enhanced CRB checks for all participants...

Only if they are left alone with the children.

You might want to look at any local volunteering organisations and do something with them... they always have things going on and could a) find you something linked to children and b) sort out the legislation with regards to CRB
