Because I felt in the mood...

Poetry is emotion put into words, and I admire everyone who manages to write good poems, because I can't do so for the life of me.

I usually prefer English poems to German ones, but there are a few people who actually manage to touch me deeply, even though they write in German.

One of them is Erich Fried.

I think poems just have to be inspired. Unlike writing you just can't sit down and write it. Well, writing needs inspiration too, but not quite as much as a poem. Don't know if I'll ever get the inspiration for another one

Exactly. Poems have to be written down in a 'rush of inspiration', they can't be planned. Which is bad (*sigh
