It's an ordinary day, nothing happening, other than going over more of Jacquel's test results on the recent autopsies, and Tsuzuki is fortifying himself after that: he's found an apple pie in the refrigerator and he's been heating it up. A good lunch is the best way to clear his head and get his cheeriness back

Here comes Agravain! He stops in the kitchen doorway and leans against the doorjamb, clearing his throat to get Tsuzuki's attention. He's not entirely sure what he's going to do to distract him yet, but he'll come up with something.

He's just taking the pie out of the oven and setting it on a cooling rack on a countertop, when he hears that throat clearing sound and looks up.

"Hey there! You hungry? You came at a good time, if you are: I was just having some lunch myself," the pretty-faced fellow says. He's likely a shade taller than Ryuk made him off to be and a bit broader through the shoulders as well. But still, what guy wears an apron?

Ryuk, on the other hand, hovers through the wall just above the door, watching the proceedings.

"I was looking for someone, actually," Agravain says, because it's the first thing that comes to mind. "He's short," he pauses, and uses his hand to indicate a height at least a head shorter than his own, "lean, with brown hair and a scowl that can sear men's flesh from their bones."

He's describing Medraut.

"Gee, I'm real sorry, I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone like that," he says, wiping his hands on his apron before leaning them on the edge of the counter. "Unless you mean a young guy in his 'teens: kinda cute, but really grumpy and kind of rude?" he asks, glancing up at Ryuk and trying not to take much notice of him.

Agravain is pretending he doesn't even know that Ryuk's there.

"No, that's his son," he says. He has no doubt that Tsuzuki is talking about Melou. "The man I'm looking for is shorter and more dashingly handsome."

"Ahh, I'd remember someone who looked like that," the violet-eyed fellow replies, chuckling self-deprecatingly. "But I'm afraid I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him."

Ryuk, by now, has slipped back through the wall and has slid along the inside to phase out through the cabinets above the pretty guy's head.

Agravain raises his eyebrows slightly. "He is rather hard to forget, since he's such an outrageous flirt."

He may be exaggerating things a bit.

Tsuzuki chuckles. "Ahh, yeah, I'd remember someone like that, especially since I'd have had to tell him no: I've got someone, sort of... It's complicated," he admits.

"Really," Agravain says. "That's a shame, since you're so handsome."

He isn't really interested, but flirting with Tsuzuki does seem to be a good way to distract him.

He chuckles, blushing, but a bit nervous, from the way he's rubbing the back of his neck. "You think so? Gee, ah, thanks."

He doesn't notice that Ryuk has snuck down the wall behind him and is reaching one long arm toward the pie on the counter...

"I don't know who wouldn't think so," Agravain says, doing a very good job of ignoring Ryuk. "They'd have to be blind."

This gets a bluuush from Tsuzuki. "Well, I do have my share of admirers, but I'd have to disappoint them, if it it was a guy: I'm kind of off the market that way."

Ryuk gets ahold of the pie with one hand, giving Agravain the thumbs-up with the other.

"Really?" Agravain says. "Who is it that you're keeping yourself for? I might have to kill them."

It's a joke, obviously. But he does manage to make himself sound completely serious and earnest.

"Aaahh, in that case, I'd rather not say," he replies, keeping his tone light, but his eyes are serious, even a bit defensive. Hm. He might not be as soft as he seems.

Ryuk slips along the wall, toward the back door, lifting the latch carefully before opening it wide enough to get the pie through.

He relaxes, chuckling a bit, but there might a touch of nerves about it. "Gotcha, I guess I'm just a bit protective, that's all," he admits.

Ryuk passes through the door -- literally -- and pulls it shut behind him. With a bang.

Tsuzuki looks around. "Okay, who banged that door?!" he demands. And in looking around, he finds something is *missing*.

"Hey! Who took my pie?!"
