My brother had his birthday party today. I love birthday parties because they mean I can experiment with my baking, more so in terms of actually having fillings and frostings, which my health-conscious family condone. It also means I can attempt to decorate.

Not as good as the one I'll bake for the two of you, will look! That's a really ugly sentence (don't hurt me!) DX

Don't worry, you can't taste it! It's there for moisture, and to also make it 'guilt-free' >.> lol

super...duper... brownie... :o~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *giant drool puddle*

I havent had hazelnut ice cream but from what I remember of the flavour of hazelnet (oh, how I miss thee) it sound delish.

And goodness, the ganache on that cake is so shiny! Looks amazing. You did a great job!

Hazelnut has to be my favourite nut, and then pistachio, I think... Oh shut up, Sam, stop reminding J D: I'M SORRY!!! D: How are the allergies going, btw? :/

Thanks, love! You need to showcase some of your goodies!!

Going pretty well. Im still not sure about it if its legit but Im just avoiding all things nutty/baked goods/products with tree oils/etc.

Its gonna sound funny, but I think my skin is sensitive in general. Last Saturday when my arm was resting across G's clammy stomach, my wrist got (non-itchy) white bumps! I was like, wtf? *removes arm asap!!* Man, I just dont know. Its bizarre. But at least I havent had any hives or pink spots in a while, as long as I am careful.

I havent baked anything in a while, aside from those banana muffins that I took along last weekend for snacking. They came in handy for breakfast on Sunday!

i've been wondering about this for a long time... how do you cut a cake using string? and does it give a cleaner cut than using a knife (esp for fragile cakes)?

You kind of use a sawing movement? I'm not sure if I did it properly though... it wasn't exactly level XD It does give a pretty clean cut, but then again that was my first time cutting a cake in half... so I've not used a knife before *fail*
