I'm pretty sure this conversation actually needs to happen on the show.
This was BRILLIANT writing, truly amazing.
I especially loved this line:
"I’m not going to lie; I was interested to meet Shelby Corcoran’s daughter, though that was far outweighed by your incredible singing talent"

They definitely need some kind of conversation that addresses this topic. I mean seriously. Pretty much every post-Journey fic (chaptered ones, at least) has a version of this. Get on it, Murphy! :P

THIS WHOLE SENTENCE. A+. And as for Rachel's, er, dramatic personality... in this fic, her jaded, slightly bitter side came out, since he was half the reason she puts up so many walls; generally though, I think that her melodramatic side is still there, she just channels it in a different way, I guess.

F/R - I actually don't ship them! *sheepish* I'm not against them, though - just overall quite not-minding about the pairing. I can see the appeal - they're both 'innocent' in their own way, and it's simple. I can see why they're one of the OTP's of the show, though, especially in that high school environment, it's almost natural that they gravitate towards each other. Angst is actually part of the reason why I love ( ... )
