Yesterday evening, I went to see a stage adaption of The Woman in Black. I enjoyed every minute! There was an announcement in the news a day or two ago that Dan Radcliff was signed to play Arthur Kipp so, naturally, curiosity got the better of me, and I ended up reading the complete spoiler. It sounds like a great play, and a great movie coming up. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out.

I saw this back in the 80s, when John Duttine was in the lead role. I screamed so loudly in the scary bits that my friends thought the theatre ought to pay me to go back every night as a "screamleader"!

It's a great play. Plus, random fact, I was taught by Susan Hill's husband on my MA course.

"I was taught by Susan Hill's husband on my MA course."

Sounds like an excellent and rewarding opportunity!

"ought to pay me to go back every night as a "screamleader"!"

Lol! There were quite a few screams in the audience, or laughs because people jumped in their seats during our performance as well. During the mountaining tension and scary bits it added to the atmosphere in the theatre - everyone was absorbed and involved in the story. Which made the added twist on the end physiologically scary and successful because not only had the actor witnessed the ghost in the re-telling, so had the audience.

The Ghost and Mrs Muir is a different type of ghost story, but I am very much looking forward to going to see it at the theatre next month.
