So, I wasn't working the day this occurred, but I have photographic evidence to share.
Background: I work in a library. We are in the process of renovating our upstairs to be a quiet study area. Because we cannot see up there, we had security cameras installed. Our director had to CONVINCE our Board that we should have cameras throughout the library AND outside in the parking lot, but we did finally get them.
Last Wednesday was like any other normal day at the library- patrons were asking dumb questions, computers were breaking down, and staff had to explain the difference between fiction and nonfiction no less than 48 times. The usual.
Until this walked in:
Now, as I mentioned, I wasn't there for this. But apparently it was EPIC. Not only did he come in, but he tried to take out DVDs. Only, he didn't have a library card. He then began to question my coworker as to how to check them out without a card. When he finally grasped the fact that no card = no movies, him and his [normally clothed] friend left.
Every staff member now has a copy of this picture for their own enjoyment, it is the desktop on our Circ Desk computers, AND our Director is bringing the photo to the next Board meeting to explain that THIS IS WHY WE NEEDED SECURITY CAMERAS. Apparently we attract all the crazies [see my post on
the lady who eats plants].
