Oh, man, you and I totally need to compare collections sometime. (Except not exactly at the moment 'cause all my books are in crates & may not be getting to be shelved in this flat at all since they're demolishing it in the mid-term future (like a few months) so there's not much point in un-crating them... but, yeah.)

I can compare collections with you in two seconds flat!

Margery Allingham, No Love Lost, published 1959, first paperback printing
G.K. Chesterton, The Amazing Adventures of Father Brown, published 1910 and printed 1935
Agatha Christie, The 7 Dials Mystery, published 1929 and printed 1957
Edmund Crispin, The Moving Toyshop, published 1946 and printed 1958
Dashiell Hammett, The Thin Man, published 1934 and printed 1942

When I hit ten or so I'll start making a spreadsheet :D

:) Most of my older ones that I actually have listed at LibraryThing are school stories rather than crime or mystery, but that's because I've only catalogued half of what I have...

1929 printing of The Merrivale Mystery by James Corbett
1935; The Kennel Murder Case by S.S. Van Dine
1940; Murder Mars the Tour by Mary E. Fitt
1950; The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie (this one's falling apart, repaired so many times!)
1954; Act of Violence by Kathleen Wade
1955; Scales of Justice by Ngaio Marsh (Yes, an Alleyn, with dustwrapper :D)
1957; Dead Man's Folly by Agatha Christie

But like I say...I've only got ~600 listed at the moment and that is less than half of all the books I have, so most of my mysteries aren't up there yet. I have a lot of the hardcover 'Classic Collection' Christie novels, which are ever so pretty...

Hi! I just happened across your LJ and saw that you like old mystery novels. I have a couple of boxes of pulp magazines dating from 1920 to the late 1940's that are a mix of mystery, romance, and sci-fi. If you're into pulp mysteries, then I'll see what I've got that you might want. I started selling them on ebay and then ran out of steam.
