Is anything too marvelous for God to do?

This sucks as a post, it does, and I'm sorry, but in my reading, that's what stood out for me this morning. Abram and Sarai's story has always moved me, and that line this morning just got to me. It's a beautiful and amazing thought.

I also love the "I didn't laugh" "Yes you did" exchange. I suppose that it could be read as more serious, but I always pictured it as a good-natured sort of exchange (almost like siblings bickering).

A God who is capable of anything, but also just the dude sitting under the tree eating bread...

It's been a bit of a theme for me this year: the superabundance, infinite generosity of God's love. It's interesting when these lessons come home to you. In many ways, this is a time where life is wringing things out of me--- work and money and time and humility are the major examples I have in mind here, and I'm struggling, and yet, in the same space and time, I'm overwhelmed with the blessings that are falling down around me like this once-in-a-decade rain we've had this summer. I can't even complain about being wrung out because my blessings are so out of proportion to what I even imagined was possible.
