I never manage to finish a book in a single sitting - real life just doesn't permit. But that's okay because it gives me time to think about it as I go along.
Is this actually a question? Do people judge books on whether they have serieses surrounding them? O_O
I totally do judge books on whether they have series surrounding them. Most of my reading is sci-fi fantasy, and the series thing is a HUGE hang up for me. Few things irk me more than getting to the end of a book only to find a cliffhanger ending and the realization that the actual story spans multiple books. It's not that I have anything against series per se, and I'm totally fine with books that are a "series" in that they simply share a universe, but once I start a series, I feel obligated to finish, and it really annoys me to get sucked into making that time commitment if I wasn't intending to. I just hate leaving things like that unfinished.
