I love all three books, as well as The Martians and The Years of Rice and Salt.

terracinque and I were talking about the trilogy last week and she was telling me about 'The Martians.' I might read it next year -- I think I need to cleanse my palate of Mars for the short term.

It's shorter than any of the books in the trilogy, and you can easily read one story and put it down, then go back and read another story and put it down. If that helps.

Lot of Mars books lately. John Varley's ROLLING THUNDER, third in his Mars trilogy (though much of the action takes place on Europa), Joe Haldeman has a Young Adult novel out, MARSBOUND, and Ben Bova's third book in his Mars trilogy, MARS LIFE came out the same day.
