Chemically treating your hair will likely ruin your existing hair, over time, but it won't change the way that the hair grows out of your head. Cutting it real short will probably help get rid of the dead stuff that's weighing your curls down and help the new hair look better when it grows out. You know what I'm saying? It won't CHANGE the way the hair grows, but leaving dry, frizzy ends will give the illusion that you're hair is damaged all the way through when it might just be the ends that are no good.
I think the dark dark reddish-purple & solid black are definitely the best colors for you. The red is totally fun, but it draws attention from the fact that you have AWESOME SKIN. Your hair looks really good in the last few pictures.
Ah, yeah true. Over decades isn't good, but some people's hair changes textures over the years naturally (I think it's from hormones, right?)
I've never dyed my hair or chemically straightened it and it's gone through all sorts of texture changes... god I wish I could get those shirley temple curls back like I had as a youngster. I guess I was just assuming that the OP couldn't be more than 18 and probably hasn't been doing this for more than a few years. I think that at her age, her hair could be saved by treating it more gently & conditioning the poo out of it.
Aw! You are beautiful! I really like your hair the last couple of photos! Personally I try not to do anything to my hair as far as chemicals go, when I was younger people told us to chemically straighten it and we did for many years...but it never looked as healthy and nice as it does now that I leave it alone. As an adult I've always wondered about bleaching it blonde because I think my skin tone would permit it, but I'm too scared to do it and ruin a good thing I have going on now. I do think that natural looking hair looks best of course. However, I think that going blonde in a classy way can look very posh and natural on some people with naturally very dark hair

You're so pretty! I love the red hair. I wish I had the guts to do something like that, even if it is bad for your hair itself. How expressive! :) I also like your hair black. It's just so pretty!
