time priorities

I'm annoyed. I'm not everyone's first time priority. It is not reasonable to add another chapter to my thesis every other week. It is not reasonable to have two major assignments due to my dinosaur teacher every time anything is due. I hate my lit class-- the teacher is insane, and has no standards but expects us to do stupid work-- last week ( Read more... )

Hey Bev,

Not sure if you know this, but Chuck Cohen is actually studying in Israel right now for the rest of the year. Try contacting him via facebook for information, he can probably help you out some.

Your hebrew + other folk's english should indeed be workable (and a lot of the people you speak to will answer you in English...)

have people been unhelpful, or is it the usual intimidation of emailing strangers and asking them for help?

And, have you checked out the Israeli Ministry of Education's website?
You can get all their people's phone numbers and even some email addresses, including that of the minister of education.

Yeah, I know, it's more cold-emailing :)

good luck, m'dear.

oh, and Yuli Tamir, the current Ed. minister was a founder of Peace Now. So it's probably a better time to be doing this research than during the last government, when the Ed. minister was Likud.

*HUGS*

I'll email you some thoughts on researching the arab and jewish school systems (though I'll admit I don't remember precisely your topic or age range).

Also, while I'd love for you to come for shabbat I by no means want to put pressure on you if you're crunched for time and already stressed.

feel better

My old, dear friend Zelda is an American who moved to Israel many moons ago. She is a teacher in Israel and may be able to help you.
