"Busy" is an understatement. I'm glad you made it through the week and as always, I love all your messy church activities. It sounds like people have returned to messy church in droves!

I've done a photo post or two and some general musings yesterday. Nothing incredibly important in the general scheme of things.

I can only say that I am glad to be retired - in effect I did about the equivalent of 3 - 4 working days this week, and it was definitely enough.

It is lovely that the families have returned to Messy Church - I think the mother and 20-something son who came to help with setting up the tech so that the PowerPoint turned up on the screen, and also helped set out food and so on, were quite amazed at how busy it was - it looks rather chaotic but it is actually well organised chaos!

I have just caught up with your posts :)

Oh dear, just reading this makes me tired! *g* You've certainly been very busy, and also clearly did a very good job with everything. It sounds all very lovely and wholesome. I hope you'll get a bit of a breather in the next days, though.
I just got curious, typed Messy Church into Google and to my surprise learned that the movement is also exisiting in Germany, if only rather small so far, and we even have one community not too far away.

You can see why I feel like lying around and doing very little!

It is interesting to see the Messy Church movement spreading. It began as a response to almost empty churches in areas with lots of young families - and where so many lived in rented accommodation where parents were worried about getting paint, or glue, or glitter on carpet or furniture.

We were quite early adopters - we are coming up to our 10th anniversary. When we started there was a small paperback book of ideas and advice. Now there is a magazine with plans month by month, but we were used to doing our own thing so we plan our own sessions whilst still following the basic plan :)

Wow! I would have been exhausted with only half of that. I hope everyone appreciates all the hard work you have put in during the pandemic.

You can see why I am stirring myself today only to go to lunch with a friend. The rest of the day will be spent reading and knitting :)
