Short and Simple Music Meme.

Sep 09, 2020 16:41

Whilst sparrow2000 is doing a fascinating whole month music meme, I saw this, much shorter, one on a FB page (slaymesoftly's husband's in fact!). These are my answers. Feel free to repost in your own journal, or add your answers here as comments.

No Googling, no children's songs.

Oh - I really like some of these answers.

Well I could have gone with Fox on the Run, but this was the first one I thought of when I saw it on Stirling's FB. I think, technically, it isn't a children's song as it was originally a music hall song, and has been a top 20 hit :)

S2C and I were playing this as a game whilst out for lunch - and The Hollies Bus Stop was the first vehicle he thought of too :)

True about the doggies song! They just sing it to kids a lot I guess.

I really pulled on my memories from the past for all of these. When I remember what era some of these songs are in my life it's a shock. Bus Stop is from when I was an adolescent in high school and I can recall roller skating round and round our gym to that song...

As a purveyor of music and Wire magazine reader the doggie song was an original music hall number from the 1900s.

I am so bad at song titles. You have two Prince songs!

I am not good at titles either - there were other songs that I could only remember the chorus so didn't get onto my list :)

Short memes work nicely too, and this one was lovely - that's a great eclectic mix.

Of course, now I can think of a whole lot of others - like Hungry Like the Wolf, or Fox on the Run for the animal one, and so on...
