Sounds like quite the wind and rain, but the prospect of being pent up with children for a protracted amount of time will produce all kinds of brave-the-weather courage! Glad you a good turnout.
Yes - I found myself thinking that if it was me I would have been ready to throw them in the car by about 3.45 and go to something, so I wasn't totally surprised by the number, but really pleased.
It would be a day to stay in and keep dry - but I will be down town in the morning to do my turn in the shop - and wait for a bus home on the sea front... and then pick up my car an go collect kids from school.
Glad to hear your niece is doing better. I don't know how I managed to miss the whole issue - I've been so distracted lately, I'm sorry for being such a rotten friend. I'll try to pay better attention in the future.
The Messy Church sounds like great fun. I'm not surprised that so many kids came, despite the bad weather - at least something against boredom, right?
They were talking about Brendan on the weather report today here. I guess it'll graze our northwest coast and possibly bring some rain further down the peninsula as well.
Your Messy Church always makes me smile...love it. And the tortilla wrapped "babies" looks a yummy project! I can also imagine their wonder at the string of paper people! That's from my own childhood! Memories...

You are not a rotten friend! I've just been trying to catch up with two days of posts as I've been distracted too.
Messy Church was fun. I was glad so many came out in the weather - it was a good way to release the pent up energy.

Oh wow, I haven't thought about that in decades. What a great turnout for the get-together!
Yikes 70mph wind? Stay safe over there!

I could do without a storm tomorrow but hey! It is a stormy winter this year.

The tortilla babies were remarkably successful - the one I made as an experiment was banana and Nutella and it was really, really, good.
The string of paper people was such a hit - it seems to fascinate each generation over, even these techies.
