We are having glorious weather. It is dry and sunny, with daytime temps of about 20C. It is TT Practice Week (click here for info about TT), and there are already about an extra 15,000 people here on the small island

Oh! Those Irises and the interleaved branches of your last photo. Just wonderful to look at. I can almost hear the burble of that fountain in the sensory garden. Good luck with TT week. Enjoy your fine weather and here's hoping it stays nice throughout the events.
I liked that at one particularly, too - it is where the clematis climbs up the frame beside the seat I was using.
It looks as if this week, at least, will be good; and so far next week, which is the actual race week, doesn't look too bad on the long range forecast either, thank goodness.
The park does look lovely all in bloom. I must take pictures of some of my yard, too, as there is a lot more colour than there was only 10 days ago.
The lake is inland - but only just! Here is an arial picture that shows what I mean. It was originally a marshy area beside the sea but was reclaimed by the Victorians to build the park.
And the 15,000 are neatly tucked in hotels, camp-sites, B&B's and home-stay. It gets busier - we expect about 40,000 altogether but some of them will leave before some of the others arrive. I think we actually squeeze about 30,000 all at the same time. I tell people the island sinks by about 1m because of all the weight :)
Oh, lovely pictures, as always. It is kind of gloomy here today, last of the May Grays and ready for the June Glooms! Monday was nice though, sunny but a bit breezy, so breezy in fact that the flag I had put up took off and B.B. had to go chasing after it, it then took him about 10 minutes to put it back on the staff and roll it up ready for the next time.
T.T. already,I remember you mentioning grating and squeezing a while back in preparation for the Great Baking Marathon. Your wares will be enjoyed by all.
Shoulder is still bothering me I guess I will have to go see the Dr. about it, also the back which is giving me problems.
I see what you mean about the lake being inland, just barely and the ubiquitous Victorian B. and B.'s on the promenade!
I like the description of the May grays! Actually this end of May/beginning of June period is usually nice here.
TT seems to have come around quickly - and then in another 10 days it will be done and it will seem to have flown by!
Good job B.B. is recovered and caught your flag.
Actually there are no B&Bs on the promenade. There were a couple of hotels built at the town end in the 1890s and also some which were built around the same period as apartments. But at least half of those tall pale buildings were actually built in the 1990s when they decided to build a couple of blocks further along the original plan! They are all apartments.
My back is still niggly - but today the pain had centralised in my right hip, for a change :(

Is the lake an inland lake?
Where does your small island put 1500 extra people?
:)

And I had to laugh about the island sinking a metre.

The Mooragh is a really nice place to just walk and sit. But it is also a brilliant place if you have small children, too.
