Here are the photos I took during the last week. A bit of a mixed bunch and, to be honest, nothing terribly exciting - ( but they are under this cut... )
Tescos is on the edge of Douglas and I often think it must have one of the better supermarket views.
One or two of the Dorothy things have become my favourite pieces to wear - there is a lovely amber bracelet, and some good, small, earrings which I have on as I type - and so it is a good reminder. I am keeping that watch as a spare for now, as the catch is a little less firm than my usual one. I think this might be why it had simply been put back in its box and forgotten.
But I will take it to a jewellers and have it tightened.
And yes - we had 60mph winds, driving rain through everything, and temperatures down to about 5C - you can imagine what the wind chill was. People are very hospitable though - there was a whole facebook post, set up by the local police, where locals were posting 'I have a bed settee and a washer & drier, 'floor sleeping space, but garage for your bike, and washing and drying facilities' and so on, for those camping to get out of the weather.
Everyone I've spoken with your side of the pond has said that it is blowing a hoolie and they've had to light the boiler/put more wood in the stove!
Today's Ikea run with DS was made in the pouring rain, and while the Big Yellow Glowy Thing is fighting to come out chicken thighs are now roasting for a pie tonight.
Really was blowing a hoolie - 60mph winds. I have just said in my reply to Pondhopper that the locals were rallying round the bikers who are camping, offering floor space and washing/drying facilities.
Chicken pie sounds good. We had turkey curry, I made enough on Sunday for two days.
I see what you mean about snail like but it does look a little phallic!
I wonder if a gentle vacuuming would help your hanging, you are right, it might not be washable depending on what was used to draw the pictures.
The view I get from my supermarket parking lot, depending on which way I look, is either a nice view of the Main Gate and the high rise apartments, the rest of the Base Exchange, office buildings, the Base Motel, yes we do have one or NASSCO, the ship yard where BB works! I do see the odd Eucalyptus tree and some scruffy shrubs!
It is warm and sunny today, sorry about your howling gale but at least you are not out in it, pity the poor campers though!
I am going to try taking my hand held vacuum down to see. Because you are right - the problem is what it is made of; the children's pictures were copied onto T shirt printing paper and then ironed on. And 15 years ago this was less reliable than it is now.
As I have just commented to Pondhopper, the local police co-ordinated a facebook page for folk to offer help to the campers - everything from village halls being opened overnight to people offering their spare bed and their washing machine/drier.
I ought to do the view from my other regular supermarket, too - perhaps in this week's pictures.
Thank you. It is a really thoughtful gift - I am reminded of her almost every day as I wear one of the bracelets and a couple of pairs of the earrings regularly.

We have strong winds and driving rain here at the moment - it's as cold as winter and the heating is on.

It felt more like January than June, didn't it? Today is calm and dry - but I wouldn't actually say warm; about 12C.

Bittersweet about the watch but another memory for you to treasure.
You've lit a fire tonight? I've got our air con on!
