Today is my five-year LJ-versary. Is there a meme I should be doing? I’m flat crap at the timestamp meme, sorry. But I’m open to suggestions

Some Assembly Required by valtyr Tony Stark is trying to set up a new superhero team when he's given a sex change, courtesy of Victory von Doom. He copes with that about as well as you'd expect.
Actually, valtyr is my go-to rec for Tony/Steve, so hit up hir tags on AO3 and work your way through. Watch the warnings, though -- zie's written necro and scat. Um, Marvel 616, Marvel Ultimates, Marvel Comics, etc will all get you Tony/Steve. If the comics canon/whatever gets a bit too wtf for you to follow, PM me. <3
Also, go here, read this: Secrets of a Successful Marriage by valtyr AU. Tony Stark lives a double life; he's secretly the supervillain known as Iron Man. But his loving husband, Steve, has a few secrets of his own, as Tony is about to discover.
Firsts and Lasts by simmysim When Tony was a kid, he thought Captain America was the dreamiest. Cap finds out. Sex happens.
Go here. Read all the things. It's CrimsonQuills, who's been writing great Tony/Steve for a while. :D Check out Meeting

Happiest of 'versaries, my darling curi! ♥ ♥ ♥ We and LJ are the better for having you here :)
I'm not really into fandom, Avengers-wise, but I find myself needing a Tony/Steve rec now that it's been presented to me. (There's Clint/Coulson fic? I...wasn't expecting that.)
Can I pick two memes? I would love your thinky thoughts on a subject that you think everyone needs to study, and why.
A month late, but with reason... *squish* curiouslyficJune 16 2012, 07:23:32 UTC
Subtlefire! Yay! Okay, so I'm tragically late with this -- and yikes, how did I miss linking you to the Avengers recs? ugh, I fail at memes, I really do -- but I had to wait for Beltane reveals to go up before I could answer the thinky thoughts meme honestly.
Sorry for the delay. If you still want the Avengers recs, my Tony/Steve favs are here and my Clint/Coulson favs are here.
Okay, so the long overdue thinkery...
Short answer: political economy.
Slightly longer answer: I think we owe it to ourselves to sort out how the world works in a way that makes sense to us, whatever way/frame/field of study that means for us personally. I'd figured media explained a lot about Western culture but media doesn't make itself, right? So I did a bit of poking around and hit on politics, which explains the decisions being made about how the world works but doesn't really deal with why those particular decisions get made
