I love lemon cupcakes but I prefer using a real recipe not this rubbish. Most lemonades rarely contain a lemon nevermind anything else. This isn't baking, it's cheating!

I never said they were lemon cupcakes. I said they were lemonade. Also, nothing is stopping you from making your own white cake mix from scratch.

I can't do that without it tasting terrible.

Cheating or not, they still taste very good.

No kidding, be nice....They're called "lemonade cupcakes", not lemon ones. If no actual lemon is a problem, grate some lemon rind into it, and leave at that. No need to be a stinker. ^_^ I am happy for this recipe, and look forward to trying it! :3 Thank you for sharing!

Lemonade cupcakes sound wonderful, but sour cream in the recipe makes me feel funny! Do you know what its purpose is? Can you taste it at all in the final product?

I don't really know the purpose of it. When my friend made them for us, you couldn't taste it at all.

I didn't even know it was in there until I saw the recipe.

a ha, i see now. i still feel creepy about it, but i will be brave! and just to make sure i have this right, do you disregard what the box says and just use the powder plus the listed ingredients, or still use what it says on the box PLUS the lemonade, etc.?

The lemonade goes in place of the water and oil. =3
