Leona carried a small bottle of whiskey down on her way to Jim's quarters for the dinner they had arranged. They hadn't spent a great deal of time alone together in a while, and she missed her friend dearly. Enough to actually offer over her alcohol, before he asked for it ( Read more... )

Jim was excited about having dinner with his best friend. Life in space had been hectic for the both of them - he with his Captain duties and her with her CMO duties - and he had missed just hanging out with her like they had before.

When it was decided he would be cooking, Jim tried to pout his way out of it but it didn't work. Thankfully, Rand liked to cook and easily whipped up some sort of chicken stir fry with rice. It had some fancy name but Jim had already forgotten it.

With the food warming, Jim took off his uniform and put on a t-shirt and pair of jeans. He then quickly cleaned up and as he was finishing, the chime rang. Grinning, he went over and answered the door.

"Bones! Come in," he said with his boyish grin in place.

She walked on through and past him, holding up the whiskey bottle to hopefully draw his eyes towards it. A good year, and a good brand; he should be pleased she'd actually brought the good stuff for him.

She inhaled the scent of food and bent to rest the bottle down on a small table in the room. She could smell chicken, she was sure, but wasn't entirely sure just what. Straightening back up and turning, she regarded him curiously.

"Now, I've not heard no alarms ringin' so which Yeoman do I have to thank for tonight's feast?" she knew him far too well to not be able to call him on it.

Jim's eyes fell on the bottle of whiskey, his lips curling into a smile. Bones had good taste and he couldn't wait to taste it. It had been far too long since they'd had any good alcohol on the ship since they hadn't been to a port.

As she placed the bottle down, Jim moved over to his cabinet to grab two glass tumblers. He held them out for her to take and gave a look of innocence. "What are you talking about, Bones? I slaved all day over the food," he said, his look of innocence still planted on his face.

But Jim knew Bones knew him too well and he finally decided to give it up. "It was Rand. I mentioned I needed to make a dinner and she practically threw herself into it," he said before waving a hand toward the couch. "Have a seat. Dinner should be done soon."

She snorted at his look of innocence, taking the tumblers from his grasp and settling them down near the whiskey. Though he was rather adapt at the puppy dog eyes look, it rarely worked on her.

She undid the fastening to the bottle, settling the top of it aside to pour them both a generous helping of the whiskey. A double, at least. But her logic behind it was that even if it took them all evening to drink it, it was an amount they both felt comfortable with.

She fastened the bottle back up and, holding his tumbler back out to him, moved to settle down on the couch. "She's quite the Yeoman. Sweet on you, for sure."

The moment she parted her lips, Jim knew he was gone. He could hear his heart pound in his ears as his blood rushed southward. He shifted when she edged closer and slipped an arm around her back. The need to feel her as close as possible seemed to consuming him at the moment.

His tongue finally got the courage to move past her lips. When it touched hers, the taste of whiskey strong, he shuddered hard. Kissing Bones was unlike kissing anyone he'd ever been with before. And he was afraid he was about to become one of those lovesick idiots because she was so wonderful and felt so good in his arms.

When the kiss finally came to an end, Jim slowly pulled back, his breath heavy and short. He felt warm and dizzy, and when he opened his eyes, he looked at her. "I...are you okay?" he asked, not knowing what else he could possibly say.

The arm around her back was enough for her to sit a little more upright, pressing against him, her form turned towards him. It seemed to be unlocking something primal within her and all she wanted was more. To kiss him again, and again.

She almost let out a sound of protest when the kiss broke, swallowing, her eyes lidded. She felt light headed; like the first time she'd kissed her damned ex. She parted her lips to speak then closed them, almost frantically searching for a reply.

"N-no," she whispered, brows knitting together as she looked at him anxiously. "I, uhm... what are we doin', Jim?" she wasn't okay. That kiss had been incredible but it was an incredible kiss from her best friend!

His face fell when she said no. Jim had hoped they could laugh about it, make a joke or two, then do it again. He wanted to feel first, talk later. It was the way he was but he knew her question was valid, even if he didn't have the right answer. To him, they were kissing. Something they should have done a long time ago.

"Kissing," he said without thinking. He then grimaced and took a deep breath. "Look, I'm just going to lay it all out for you, okay? What you do with it is up to you. I even give you permission to punch me."

There was another deep breath and Jim tried his best to find the right words to explain himself. "I care about you, which is a given since you're my best friend. But my feelings for you go beyond what a friend should feel for another. I want you. I want to be with you; be the one that makes you happy. I need you to be the one that stops me from fucking every girl I meet, wishing it was you." He stopped then and waited to see if she was going to break his nose or not.

She had an awful need to look before leaping, burnt after her divorce. It wasn't that she didn't trust Jim, but well, she didn't think she trusted him with this. He wasn't the commitment type like she was; even with how she'd been hurt she wasn't comfortable with just fooling around. Not with her best friend, anyhow.

"You... you think about me when you're in bed with other women? I don't know if I should slap you or not," she commented with an eyebrow arch. Not exactly the most romantic of things to say. "I can't stop you from fuckin' them. I couldn't do it with Jack. You have to stop yourself an'-- oh God, Jim this is insane," her tone raised as she was obviously getting worked up over this.

She let out a breath, reaching out to put her hand on his chest. She patted it once, gripped the material and looked up at him almost sadly. "I'm scared of losing you."

Jim didn't think seeing her naked was strange. In fact, he thought she was one of the most beautiful women he had ever laid eyes on. Just the sight of her, naked and opened for him made his cock twitch with want.

Continuing up her thigh, he groaned when he got to her core. Jim used the tip of his tongue to part her folds and he groaned. God, she tasted amazing. So much better than what he could have ever imagined. When he reached her clit, he slowly ran his tongue over it before sucking it between his lips.
