I was supposed to see Versailles last tyear and couldn't go. A friend got their Noble CD signed for me. And it's through Jakura's connection with Seika that I kept up with Jasmine and got into HIZAKIgp and Versailles. I'm not the biggest fan or anything. But, it is really shocking. I knew he was sick, but I didn't know how bad. This is why I hate when they try to play these things down. Not that there is much we can do. u.u;
I'm not the biggest fan of Kamijo, either. The rest of the band always made up for him, imo. But if I hadn't followed Jasmine over from Jyakura, I don't know if I would have gotten into them at all.
You're spot on about it just hitting home about the mortality of everyone. The media circus around Micheal Jackson kept that one more distant that it should have been for me. This just kind of drove it all home.
And the fans being in the know is a double edged sword. "We" tend to panic and overreact. But the sentimental attachment makes you think maybe you might have cherished the time left a little bit more. There really isn't a right or wrong to it. Its just a hard thing to wrap my head around, and my initial reaction is always anger.
Wow, I don't even listen to Versailles, but it's incredibly sad. It seems like so many viskei bands are having members take breaks due to serious illnesses recently, or maybe it just seems that way to me. This is incredibly unfortunate, though. :(
I listened to them. I like them save Kamijo. I was a fan of Jasmine's older bands, too. But I wasn't the his number 1 fan or anything. So, basically same here. I don't know if it's just easier to get information now so it seems like more, or it really is just more common? I have so many concerns about them being so thin and working so hard all the time. If you're constantly running on fumes, your body can't fight off the rough stuff because there are no reserves, ya know? But I worry too much sometimes.
Yea, and as sudden as it all is, I'm wondering what percentage of the viskei scene is poor, starving young men wandering around with undiagnosed heart-problems. :(
