I actually wasn't excited about it. Tim Burton isn't generally my flavour of movie-making, and the stills and trailers I'd seen for this were so much "imagine Tim Burton doing Alice" that I felt it was going to be underwhelming. But I'm a diligent movie-goer, and the stars aligned, so we saw it. I'm glad I did? I didn't hate it. I was just... well, underwhelmed.
Yeah, "Tim Burton does" isn't nearly the formula for me to enjoy movies that it seems to be for a lot of people. I may Netflix it, being a less diligent moviegoer than you, but it's not going to drag me out to the theaters.
It doesn't sound like I'll hate it either (as opposed to Avatar, which sounds like I'll be hitting my head against something the whole time) but I'd rather see a meh movie at home, and I'm pretty sure based on your comments and many others like them that I'll find it an overall meh.
