I have a confession to make. I couldn't be arsed deleting all my Torchwood subscriptions after I stopped following the fandom. I've just been ignoring them, and occasionally snickering over a punny headline about Season 4: Miracle Whatever ( Read more... )

Surprisingly, I enjoyed watching most (er, just more than half) of this season's Torchwood, just to see how the story unfolded. Having done that I have no desire to re-watch, partly cos the ending was so ham-fisted and unsatisfying.

Unfortunately the pacing was very patchy. As was the characterisation. So if you're mostly in it for the characters, I'd avoid it (except, as you say, for occasional moments of awesome, but that's patchy writing for you).

I haven't seen any of the newest season; I just kinda fell out of love with the show when they kept having the characters make stupid decisions over and over, and then KILLED OFF ALL BUT TWO main characters. *shakes fist at them*

D:

I hate that falling out of love with a canon feeling...there are several fandoms I mostly only like fic set in early seasons or done by authors that fix the canon fail (Supernatural, I'm looking at you).

Yep. I haven't had the slightest interest in Torchwood since then. I'm not sure which has turned out to be the bigger disappointment, Torchwood or Doctor Who.
