I'm liking Brisbane so far. Caught the river cat to the south bank for dinner of Moreton Bay bugs. NOM NOM NOM. So good, and gluten free ( Read more... )

Touch wood.

My mind read this as "Torchwood" and I thought, "How unlike C to make a spelling mistake like that." Never mind that Torchwood would be completely out of context.

Gallery!!! Museum!!! If you're there sunday I cannot recommend the West End markets enough :) nom food and stuff! West End is good for a wander and food in general :) Southbank is lovely too :)

West End Makets are saturday but I agree with the recomendation. Other brisbane stuff - southbank generally, the art galleries are good and we often send tourists up mt Cootha for a look at the town from on high. But it isn't that intersting if you can't point and say 'that's my house'. IF you had time I would recomend Morteon bay and the islands - particularly Nth Stradbroke but that needs at least an entire day.

Brunch at the Gunshop Cafe at the West End. You might have to wait for a table but it's worth it.

The Southbank markets (Sunday, I think?) were awesome when I was there a couple of years ago.

And you can always do a pub crawl down the centre of the major mall there, stopping at each of the small bars in the centre of the mall for a quick half pint.
