Oh, WolframAlpha is the most amazing thing. We were geeking about it on Twitter awhile back. Maybe that's the problem. No one is talking about these things on LJ any more because we're all tweeting them instead and if you're not following the right geeky people you miss them.
I love the whole collaborative editing thing. It's like they've taken all the best bits of all the little apps and social networks we're using and seamlessly integrated them into one program.
I keep imagining storytime, in which a group of us are writing and adding stuff, and then someone makes art on the fly and adds it in, and then someone drops in a youtube vid with the bit of dialogue we want to quote, and then the story branches out into two different endings... and then it's posted to the AO3.
I've been trying it out. It's very elegant, but omg, I need my Firefox apps. How did I live before session manager? And Read it Later? It's nice to have a usable second browser though; I shall use it for my not-very-secret socks. :)
I've been using chrome for a while, it's pretty nifty. The only problems I've had with it are that sometimes it doesn't load a site, and that when I sent into my application for work it didn't register on their system, so I had to use Explorer. But I've gotten really used to the Top 9 sites on the new tab.
It's very elegant! Ironically, I tried out an app just like the Top 9 sites on Firefox, and got rid of it coz I never used it.
I don't think I can use a browser without the apps I use all the time on FF. Like Read it Later (so awesome). I'll play with Chrome a bit more and see if it grows on me. I'll definitely use it as my second browser in place of MS Exploder, tho, on those occasions when one browser is not enough. :)

omg, I'd seriously consider switching to a blogger account for this. I haven't watched the whole thing yet but it looks amazing.
Why isn't everyone talking about this? The geek gossip network is clearly failing in some way :)

But Wave? Perfect tool for fanfic projects, with embedded art as you go! Storytime will be a whole new experience!
