It may be quite do to some certain characters' honeymoon (or even the fact that some of my IRL friends went there for their very real honeymoon), but last night I dreamed I was at Catalina. Actually living there- and for some reason, still commuting back and forth to my job back here. >_However, there was fun with searching for a missing person ( Read more... )

Um. Catalina Island means something in Kage Baker fandom. Dreaming of Catalina Island means something in Kage Baker fandom. I'll just sit here and, er, ignore the Company equivalent of 19. The number 2355 didn't appear in the dream, did it?

*belatedly* Searching for a missing person on Catalina Island most certainly means something in Kage Baker fandom. I'm going to hide now. *hides*

... hahah. Kage Baker? What did he write?

And as far as I can recall, no 2355. Only numbers were 12 noon, and ... 1pm something. Mostly because in my dream I ran into one of my coworkers, who reminded me that I started work at noon (and it was 11:55, or whatnot), and the next ferry back to the mainland didn't leave til 1 something- so I was going to be late.

So. Um. What does this all mean then?

She wrote the Company series, a collection of books about cyborgs living in the past and saving soon-to-be-lost historical items from utter destruction. Becca introduced me to them a while back. I read and fell in love this winter, and now I (once in a rare while) play a cyborg named Lewis (preserver_lewis at Milliways.

Exactly what happens at Catalina Island is a spoiler, but involves all sorts of conspiracies, quite a bit of time travel, and some Evil Not-Exactly-Aliens. Or something like that.
