I see your point, but I don't really understand how being a minority allows you make fun of every other minority there is. I forced myself to watch some of his show once, and THE MAN APPEARED IN INDIAN-FACE. If he were white, he wouldn't have a show. I think I'd be able to tolerate him a little more if he were actually funny.
he's making alright for everyone to laugh at being racist, as if it were a joke. but it's not. i hate him for the fact that he reassures the latino racialization. and give the go-ahead to laugh. just because he is a comedian.
ME TOO. I agree with what you said. As if Latinos didn't have it hard ENOUGH in this country. I think that both were equally wrong in what they said, but Carlos Mencia makes me so much angrier. Before the incident, I had never heard of Don Imus. On the other hand, Carlos Mencia is praised and promoted and advertized by Comedy Central every chance they get for saying things 10x worse than what Don Imus said on a weekly basis, as if it's inherently funny and clever to be racist.
