I was kinda hoping it was something more exotic and exciting, like on a cabaret stage or from some mysterious French lover. I think I read too much or listen too to many musicals or something. :-)

Welcome home. Sounds like fun, always wished timing had been different and I'd found a chance to visit Europe in my youth.

What a great entry! Made me smile, thinking back on my first European trip. Also to Paris, when I was just out of college. It's still a magical city for me. :)

Me, too! Paris is still the city of my transformation, my empowerment, my coming-of-age. :-)

At the age of 24, I packed up my wife and son and moved (transferred) to Madrid, Spain. We lived there for three years. My daughter was born there. We chose to live off-base (Torrejon Air Base) and immersed ourselves in the culture.
Life changing.

The next time I turn 18, I'm so going to do this!

I'm glad you had a good time, and hope it was as refreshing and rejuvenating as it sounds.
